first pictures of my spinning

so like i said. i took part in the Tour de Fleece. I loved all the spinning i did. I carded alot of my blue and purple BL/Finn x EL/Corr x BL/Corr. It's lovely. Have made probably 6 or 7 skeins of this.

Here is an example of the spun yarn.

From Tour de Fleece 09

that was my major spinning project. I still havent gotten thorough it all. Once i have a minute i will be knitting it into a simple sweater. Its from Ravelry and its called Elli. I will post photos when i start.

Try again

Hi
I have been very bad and have not updated this in months. but seeing as i am trying to take part in many swaps on Ravelry (another thing to feed my addiction) i thought i should give people a bit more info for better stalking.

I have been doing heaps of spinning in the last couple of months. i took part in the Tout De Fleece which was great. it forced me to do something every day. I have slackened off since the end of that. bit i have still spun a few times.

anyway. Back to work.

More detailed updates to come.

Thank you

Thanks for all the well wishes. I have been naughty and not blogging. My friend Amber gets out of the hospital today. She had a very rough time but will be glad to go home. She is healing and hopefully she will be ok soon.

I am still working on my Love Blanket. The wedding is on Saturday. I am just doing the trim for so hopefully it will be done on time but I have a busy schedual for the rest of the week. I am also in the middle of Ambers leg. Hope to finish that soon too.

I spent my first lot of Etsy exercise dollars on some yarn from Spacefrog. Its purple! Go check out her yarns. I love them all!

please send out good thoughts

Hi
My best friend Amber is going into hospital because she needs her leg amputated due to a bone cancer. I am sure she would really appreciate some good vibes/thoughts/prays sent her way. Anesthetics is never good for her. she can react so badly to them so she needs all the help she can get. She will be going into hospital tomorrow and having the operation on Thursday. I will let you know how it all goes.

Good deeds

I like the feeling I get when I do something nice for someone. At least I hope they like it. I found a seller on Etsy that I thought had great products at great prices. Spacefrog.etsy.com has some great scarves, socks, roving and more at really good prices, and they are from Australia so shipping is good for me too. I found her when I did a search for Australian sellers in the knitting catagory because I was looking for a shawl for someone. I didn't find one but I found this shop. I haven't bought anything from her yet because I haven't earn't enough etsy dollars to start spending but I sent her a convo to tell her how much I loved her shop.

She hasn't had many sales yet and she doesn't have time to promote herself and so I thought I would nominate her for a sneak attack. I love sneak attacks they are a fabulous idea and you can find out all about it at http://www.handmademovement.com/. Basically they choose a shop with very few sales and publish a link to that shop at a certain time and everyone who knows about these sneak attacks will go and check out the shop and buy something if they like anything in there. It is just a great way to get people to stores that they might not get to see. I really love sneak attacks and have participated in a couple of them myself. There is always an etsy forum thread about the current attacks so go and check out the handmade movement blog.

Anyway, I emailed Micheal at http://www.handmademovement.com/ and asked him to consider the Spacefrog shop for a sneak attack. Unfortunately because she dosent have many items under $10 the shop might not do as well on a sneak attack. But her prices are great. I recommend you checking it out. So instead of a sneak attack he wrote a blog post about the shop. hopefully people still go and check out the shop.

My only fear is that by the time I have earned a few more etsy dollars so I can go and buy something there myself it will all be gone.

new things

So I know that I am trying to not start too many new things before I finish my old things. But I have just finished my waving chevron scarf, I have even blocked it. I started a lace scarf for my mother using the Dragons Song bamboo yarn making the branching out scarf. But its a bit hard to do on the bus because I am having to read a chart for the first time. And I have been doing a lot of work on my love blanket. But Its Connell's grandmothers birthday on the weekend. She is lovely and gets me birthday and xmas presents so I thought I would get her a shawl. But there were none in Australia on Etsy that I like for the Nana so I decided I would make a simple one myself. Its coming along nicely and quickly. I only started it yesterday and I am halfway done. It is a simple stockinette stitch shawl with a knit front and back at each end and a yarn over either side of the centre stitch. So it is expanding pretty rapidly. I am a bit worried that it wont be flowy enough. But if it isnt then I can always knit another one in time using bigger needles.

Oh and I wen on a 4 hour bush walk yesterday. It was fun.

my cats ok

the vet cant see anything wrong with her. I'm going to worm her and hopefully i dont see any more blood.

sad things

Sorry I haven't been posting. This week I found out something sad and I haven't been in the mood to post about it. One of my very best friends is sick. But I won't write about it because I am not sure she wants the whole world to know, not that the whole world reads this. But anyway. It has made me a bit sad this week.

I have been working on both my love blanket and my scarf this week. They are both coming along nicely. The blanket is big enough for one and a bit and I have almost finished the whole ball of my yarn for the scarf and the length looks good. I got lots of mail from etsy this week. Included in that mail was my two drop spindles and roving. I really want to try some spinning but I told Connell to put it up somewhere high so that I cant get to it. I want to finish these projects first. I have other yarn to knit too. I think I want to knit something for my mum before I start to spin too. So I am at least going to leave it until I have my week off in a months time. Lets see if I can do it.

I am still exercising a bit and drinking lots of water which is good. But the food I have eaten this week hasn't been so good. I haven't weighed myself on wii fit for a couple of days because the last times I did my weight was going up not down.

My cat might be sick. there was blood in her pooh last night. I called the vet down the road this morning but they were all booked up. I just got a call though, they had a cancellation. So I will take Mushroom up to get checked out now.

Thank you

Thank you very much for all your support. I think that talking about what I am doing to as many people as possible will hopefully help me to keep on track. I went to hydrotherapy last night which was half an our long of movement and exercise, then I spent another half hour in the pool doing laps. I can swim, but I'm not fit. So when I would get tired from doing one type of stroke i would change to another. So I was constantly moving for the next half an hour too.

This morning I got a delivery. I love getting deliveries. It was my drop spindles and roving. I got a top and a bottom whorl. I bought them before I had read any of my books on the subject and these don't have notches in them. They come with instructions though so i hope i can figure out how to use it. I bought just some white roving to start with and some pretty coloured roving as well. I really shouldn't start until i have finished either my scarf (which I haven't touched for about a week) or my love blanket (which is growing everyday).

I'll have to get some photos for you guys tonight.

My new exercise plan

So I'm really depressed about my weight at the moment. I feel so stupid and disappointed that I let myself get so overweight. Today I made a positive step towards trying to fix this. I gave myself a plan and incentives to exercise. I have set up an easy spreadsheet that has the type of exercise I am likely to do(walking, Wii Fit, hydrotherapy and gym) and time increments i would do them in (15min, 30min, 45min, 1hr and 1hr+). Then i mark the date that i did this exercise on.

I have decided that i need incentive to keep me going. I LOVE buying things from Etsy.com. It is one of my favorite websites and i love just going to the forums and checking out peoples shops from there. I try to buy hand made gifts now so I try to plan and get things from there too. So for incentive, every hour I spend exercising I get an Etsy Dollar. A dollar to spend on Etsy.com. I think its a great idea. not only will it give me incentive to keep exercising. it will save me money because i wont just go and spend money in the shops anymore. I think that maybe i should get a bonus for weight loss too but i haven't decided how much weight loss and how many dollars i should get for it. I know i want to loose 15-20kgs. so maybe every 5kg i can get a bonus of $10 or something like that.

Sorry for being AWOL

I haven't blogged for a while. The weekend wasn't necessarily busy but i was busy watching Project Runway season 1 on YouTube and knitting. I have done a fair bit more on my scarf and then I have picked up my love blanket to do more of that.

Also this weekend I went shopping! i bought a Fridge and TiVo. so i spent a Lot of money. And on Sunday Connell and I went to his parents house for a belated birthday lunch and I was spoiled. I got presents from his parents, his brothers and sister and their partners and his Nana gave me a present too.

Then we went to my parents house (after buying the fridge and TiVo) and watched the news... There is a disaster going on down in Australia at the moment. I would hope that everyone in the western world has heard how horrific this is. Please if you can donate to the Red Cross. Australians have really dug deep and I know that we have donated at lease $12million. That is fantastic. there are so many dead. and so many more homeless and injured. We have lost 181 people so far, but they believe that the number will raise higher than 200 people. The pictures and videos and storied are just heartbreaking.

Etsy Forums

I am loving the Etsy forums at the moment. I am mostly a lurker but I do say a few things now and then. They never seem to end up part of a conversations but its still fun. And I have found two sellers that I love and have bought stuff from so that is great.

I put in an application for leave from my job today. I haven't had a proper holiday in like a year and a half. I even worked over Christmas with just the public holidays off. So I am taking the third week in March off. It's the last week of the Adelaide Fringe. I plan on being a Fringe Whore again this year. Its a term I coined for myself last year seeing as I would go to 2 or 3 things a week over the month it was on and spent a lot of time in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. One thing I really want to do is the Op Shop tour. Its a bus tour that goes around to a whole heap of great op shops around Adelaide. I don't have any one to go with. So I will have to go by myself unless I can get a friend to come along with me.

So during my leave I want to go to lots of Fringe events and do lots of Craft things. I want to do a lot of knitting and crocheting. I will have my drop spindles by then so I can try to make some yarn too. That will be exciting.

Four Books today

So this morning before work I got two packages, a small one from booktopia books and a big one from amazon. They both had knitting books in them. Tonight i have read a bit from all of them and think they are all great and I cant wait to read more and try things from them. The first is The Yarn Harlot's At Knits End: Meditations for Women who Knit too much. This book is filled with anecdotes and tips for knitting. I haven't read a lot of it yet but I like that I can just open it to a random page and get an important tip.

The other three books are all about spinning! Boy was I excited to get home and start to read them. I have read the first couple of chapters of each so far and find that all of them have good information and varied information from each authors perspectives which is great for me because I know NOTHING about spinning yet. I have ordered both a top whorl and a bottom whorl spindle with some roving from an Etsy shop so I hope that I learn something from these books.

The first book is Spinning in the Old Way by Priscilla A. Gibson-Roberts. Its a small book with black and white illustrations. It is well written and easy to follow with seemingly good advice on how to spin with a top whorl hand spindle. So far it has given lots of goon information about how to start spinning. She has made it clear that it is her way of doing things that she is explaining and that there are many other ways to spin yarn and this is just one thing to try.

The next book was Start Spinning by Maggie Casey. I heard about this book on the Lime and violet podcast (I am still very behind only having just listened to the episode from May of 2008) and when I went to amazon to find it the other two were bundled with it and I had heard them talking about each of them too. This book has nice clear, instructional photos throughout and is very easy to read.

The final book I received today was Spin to Knit by Shannon Okey. Again there is some nice and clear step by step photos in this book but not as many as in the Start Spinning one. But this book has a lot more ground to cover. This book seems to cover everything from getting a rubbish bag full of fleece left on your doorstep to the patterns for making objects from your hand spun yarn. The information is great. I am not so thrilled about some of the patterns in the end of the book however. There are a lot of things on there that I just would not make. But the info in it is great.

So today was a good mail day. Not only did I get the books but the case of wine I ordered on the weekend was delivered here too. And thank god someone was here to receive it because I wouldn't want to leave a case of Chardonnay out on the from veranda. It could have gotten stolen of over heated. Both would have ruined it.

Working out the kinks

I have been playing around with the background to my blog the last couple of days. the picture on there now was done by Connell. He asked me what I wanted and I said that I didn't know. I just wanted it green and pretty. Then I suggested cherry blossoms on a branch and this is what he came up with. I like it for now. It needs some tweaking i think but it will do. Now I will wait for him to get home and get him to just make it wider so that the background stretches along the whole page.

EDIT: The background is all fixed now. I am going to try to get Connell to sketch me something everyday so that i can change my background every once in a while and feature his art on it.

In the mean time I have a couple of photos. The first one is the Birthday card I got form my workmates. our Secretary is great. And she does scrapbooking (something I want to get into but maybe in the digital form to save paper). So she whipped this card up for me and I love it. Everyone in our unit signed it and I got a very pink cake. I wish I had taken a photo of it. It didn't just look pink, it tasted pink too.

The second photo is where I am up to with my waving chevron scarf. Its coming along nicely and you can actually see the wave in it which is great. I think I'll just make it as long again as it is and that will be it. I will have plenty of the yarn for that too.

Talking of yarn I purchased 2 more skeins today from etsy. I know, I am bad. But as one lady at work said to me, its OK because I don't spend my money on cigarettes and drugs (I would say alcohol too, but the wine tour I went on yesterday would make me a liar), I don't buy any designer clothes, I have lots of clothes but they are all cheapies. so at least i am spending my money on something pretty and creative. I got 2 skeins from Kitty Grrlz Hand Spun Yarns. I got the Dragons Song for my mother, she loves all things dragons and I thought I would make her a scarf or shawl and I got me the Amethyst vine cause that's my favorite stone and I'll make something nice for myself with that.

Today I went to the physio. Next week I'll be starting hydrotherapy at my work pool which is great. It's an hour and a half after my work finishes but I might be able to try to get into work an hour late those days and then just stay back an extra half hour. Otherwise I live right near by so its no drama to get back to the pool once I have been home.

Tonight I played some WiiFit. Its fun. We have had the game for ages and I was using it every day when we first bought it, but soon enough, like most things I lost interest. Connell has been using it most days to chart his weight as he has been running a lot and loosing a lot of weight. But I am a lazy creature and have not been doing enough exercise and I am paying the price.

I used to be part of a "gym" called EFM. It was more of a club with a personal trainer though. They are franchised and all over the city. There is one close by that is run but the wife of a guy I used to work with. The problem is that its $100 a month if you go twice a week at that particular one. I used to pay that for unlimited access when I used to go. But its worth it. They set out programs for everyone every day. So it's different and fun each time. I really have to get off my butt and do something about it. My excuse at the moment is the heat wave. Hopefully next week it will be cool enough to go.

Here is a gorgeous video I was told about:

Wine tour

Today we went on a wine tour of the Barrossa Vally. It was fun (besides a few hiccups along the way from clashing personalities, and one sales person who seemed to think I was invisible). I bought a few bottles of wine had a nice lunch and did a fair bit of knitting along the way. i have just finished the third section of the waving chevron scarf. Still enjoying it but I want to do something with my new yarn.

I have forgiven my cat of it's transgression the other day. She has been unusually friendly since then. So that is good.

Connell is an artist. I am getting him to make a background for me. But he doesnt know how. We will muddle through together.

grrr cats

she is peeing around the house, on my housemates t shirt in his room (in which she is not aloud to be), on my boyfriends bean bag in the lounge, and in front of me on my bed that we had dragged into the living room to sleep under the air conditioner last night. I had been patting her before hand. Being nice to her. Then she went out of the room, came back in, sniffed around on the bed for a few minutes, sat down and peed. I was NOT IMPRESSED! One of Connell's friends thinks it may be because we are feeding her too close to her litter tray. So I have tried to move that. Lets see if that works.

I'm Melting!

It is so hot here. We are in the midst of a above 40 degree Celsius heatwave. Tuesday it was 43.2 degrees (109.8 degrees Fahrenheit), and yesterday it reached 45.7 degrees (114.3 degrees Fahrenheit) this was the hottest day in Adelaide in 40 years. Today it has been forecast to be 42 degrees and 40 for both Saturday and Sunday. Luckily we are getting a cool change on Monday *sarcasm flag* its going to be 39 degrees on Monday, 38 on Tuesday and Wednesday and back to 40 of Thursday. I am not looking forward to all this heat. I like hot weather but this is ridiculous. It is better being in cold weather because you can always put on more clothes. And before i get any arguments, I was in Chicago a couple of years ago when it was -27 degrees Celsius (-16 Fahrenheit) and that was OK because we could stay inside and bee warm of when we went outside we just rugged up... a lot.

Anyway, enough complaining about the weather. I am still knitting my wavy scarf. iI am almost halfway into the 3rd section. I love it. Its easy but very pretty and I am not bored of it at all. But I did find a couple more knitting patterns that were on the Lime and Violet Daily Chum that I want to try. I have to re-do the folder that I have all my patterns that I want to try in there. One is full and then I have a whole heap of loos sheets of paper lying around the place. I am not very organised.

So last week I bought some spinning books off of Amazon. They haven't arrived yet but one of them is about using drop spindles. So today i bought 2 drop spindles, one top and one bottom whorl, with some roving. I am excited. I also bought some beautiful yarn. I will Show you guys when I get it. I think I will make a hat and scarf out of this new yarn.

Photo Time!

OK here goes.

First the beautiful yarn form TerraBellaSpun on Etsy. It was spun especially for me after I saw the roving Color my World. I loved the bright and beautiful colours and I asked Renae how I could get it spun up because I haven't started spinning YET (I have 3 books coming for Amazon on this subject, damn Lime and Violet). Straight away she let me know that she would spin it up for me and just charge me for the yarn. It was done in a flash and I was very excited with the photos that she sent me. I even put it on my screen saver at work. Then a week or so later it arrived. It was a very nice surprise and it was beautiful. I gushed to Renae about how much I loved it. I haven't figured out what to do with it yet. What do you think? a couple of
suggestions have been a hat or use it as a decorative inlay in a shawl, a workmate suggested making it into some art i can hang on my wall. What do you guys think?

Next is my weekend away. It was fun. I saw the sights,

saw one of my best friends, and had a gecko in my bathroom when I got home. The gecko has a special meaning for me. It was a symbol of my trip around the world with my best friend due to many different reasons and when I get a tattoo (hopefully soon) it will be a atristic picture of a gecko. I just have to decide what I want and Connell will have to draw it for me.

No posts from the weekend

Hi guys.
I haven't forgotten about this yet. I was away during the weekend and yesterday was such a lazy day that I didn't do anything. But I have gone through photos from the weekend so when I gt home tonight I will post a couple of them. I also want to post the photos of my lovely yarn from last week and get peoples opinions about what to do with it. I have had a couple of good suggestions so far. But we will see. I shouldn't start anything new until i have finished some of my current projects. I did manage to do some of my knitting on my scarf this weekend so I have just started the third segment. Photos will be posted tonight.

Starting early and finishing late

I have to build up my flexi time today by a couple of hours. I am goign to Sydney tomorrow and taking the afternoon off so I need enough flexi time to do it. I dont like to have negative flexi time. At least we are in the middle of a pay cycle so I can build it up again by the end of next week. Before xmas i had up to 12-13 hours but since then I have used all of them and havent built up a big reserve of them yet. So i have been trying to come in a bit early this week but for many different reasons i havent been able to stay late. So tonight I think I will be staying an hour or so later after clock off time.

EDIT: Ok, so I didn't stay at work as long as I wanted to today bit I have had a headache since lunchtime and I didn't have any of my Advil to take at work because I have been using a different handbag the last couple of days. So I stayed back late but only by a half an hour, not an hour like I wanted to. But I have enough flexi so I can take time off tomorrow.

But now that I am home and I have opened my parcels that came in the maile today boy am I feeling 100% happier. My first ever custom handspun yarn came today. I will link the shop and photos later after the fibre artist has said it's ok. I was soo happy to get this. I absolutely LOVE the colors. I just gushed in my feedback on Etsy to her. I also got another present for a friend and a couple of things for myself from another Etsy seller. They are all beautiful. And after my friends birthday I will post pictures of them as well.

sore wrists and ant bites

Im in a good state tonight. I went to get the washing off the line tonight and I must have been standing in the way of ants. i got bit all up my legs. Also tonight I started up my Love blanket in crochet. When I crochet I get a sore wrist. How can I stop this?

I got a couple of my Etsy purchases tonight. Unfortunately neither of the things were for me, they are gifts for friends. After they get the gift I will let you know what they are. Another of the gifts I bought that I was hoping to get tonight but they hadnt sent me the details of how to pay for the item yet and I need it to take with me to Sydney on Friday. I asked if I could get it send straight to my friend. I havent heard anything from them yet.

My Love blanket is crocheted with a bamboo hook of 10mm. I have used a whole heap of different yarns that I bought at Spotlight. The stitch I am using is a half double crochet. I started at the centre and just spiraled my way out, putting a row of increases in as needed. I am hoping to make 2 of them, both big enough for 2 people to snuggle under. I have two people I know who are getting married seperately but on the same day. I am hoping to give one blanket to each couple. but the first one is a long way off. the other major project I am hoping to do is my baby blankets. There are going to be a few popping out over the next few months. I want to give them something handmade if I can.

The Makado

Connell took me to the Mikado tonight. It was a lot of fun. There were a couple of big name Aussie comedians, a legend of Australian musical theater, a finalist for So you think you can dance Australia and an awesome guy who I don't know his name. It finishes on Saturday. If your in Adelaide i do recomend it.

Early Birthday Supprise

Connell spent an hour or more last night swearing at his computer trying to buy us tickets for a suprise for me tonight. Its my birthday next week but apparently this show finishes on Saturday and Connell works every other night this week.

I dont know what it is going to be but i have an idea. I'll let you know what it was tomorrow.

I am really going to try to read and comment on more crafty people's blogs. And i want to get more involved with the Etsy forums and other crafty websites. This is a community i want to be more a part of.

The aquisition of furniture contunues

My cosin offered me a bookshelf and a desk almost a year ago. Today my dad, boyfriend and I finally went to pick them up. I dont think this household can never have too many book shelves. we all have a large collection of books and DVDs and games.

I also recieved a book from amazon. Its called 100 Applique Motifs.I saw it in a blog that I am reading. I wish I knew which one though. It is a beautiful book filled with lots of cute things to make. I have never done applique before but this book makes it look simple.

Why can't i stay home from work and jut create things all day. Maybe one day i can quit my job and just create things like many of the lucky people I see on the internet. My goal is for my boyfriend to finish his PhD in chemical engineering and make lots of money in a fancy yet easy job allowing me to only need to work part time if at all so that i can spend more time creating things. I can start selling on Etsy or Artfire and make lots of money on that. Then he can quit his job and concentrate on his art. I am sure that idea is compleately feesible *holds up sarcasm sign*.

Ikea trip

Today we went to Ikea to buy some bookshelves. I live with my boyfriend (that's him looking unimpressed, this is even before we spent hours rearanging all the furniture in the room to make it perfect) and a friend and for the past year we have been living with our TV on a coffee table and the DVD player, PS2 and PS3 and Wii and other cable needing things on the ground around it. The room always looked messy. Also our room wasn't set up the best for entertaining due to the position of everything. But we bought 2 of the Expedit 2x4 bookshelves in white so we can have one lying across the floor and one standing up. It will allow us to hopefully hide away all our cords and cable swe have some draws and boxes to go in the shelves so I can put some of my yarn and crafts in there too as well as books and dvds. then our two couches are going along the walls instead of one being out from the wall. Connell, my boyfriend has his computer desk in the lounge room we might tun that so it is sticking out from the wall so he can watch tv from there but the desk is much smaller than the couch so it wont take up nearly enough room.

I am hoping that we can try to keep the room a lot neater. we are all messy people so it probably wont change much. but we can try.

edit: The room turned out nothing like we had planned but we all agree its so much better than the way we had planned.

not much to report

I didn't do too much in the way of knitting today. I woke up late because it's Saturday and I have the house to myself Saturday morning. Then it was a cleaning day. The hose is in a constant state of mess and we are always trying to clean it so that took most of the rest of the day until I went to the movies. It was my best friend Annes birthday today and i took her to the movies. We say Benjamin Button. It was good. I liked it. Then we went to my friends house to play Disney Trivial Persuit but it was pretty crap. So we gave up and just talked. that was more fun.

Now its time to watch Serenity and knit some more.

I mmight have to change my blog name... it seams that when you put in my url it comes up witrh some guy called Ben's blog instead

First section done

So I have finished the first section of my Waving Chevron Scarf and I am just starting the next section. It is coming up really nicely. I really like the yarn I am using . In the original pattern they called for bigger yarn and using 3 solid colours but using my sock yarn I still get the striping but with patches of colours too and I really like it. I also cast on twice as many stitches as what was done with the original scarf, 52 in total. that is just because I am using skinnier yarn. I like the size of it and I really like the shape or the curves. I have never done that before. I actually really like the edge of the scarf that is made but the kfb stitch either end. It's nice and clean and I like the ridge on one side. But then I like weird little things about objects.

I am sorry about my spelling and punctuation and grammar in these posts. I am not a big fan of capitalisation but I think i will try just because it is nicer for other people to read. So forgive me if I fall back to my old ways.

I really hope that i continue this blog if only for the pictures of what I am working on. I will try to add them when i talk about a project.

So this will be my craft blog

I am enjoying other peoples blogs these days. i discovered Google reader recently and i am now addicted. I have mostly knitting and craft blogs but a few other things as well. One of my best friends and i decided to teach ourselves to knit. we both had some basic knowledge, mine was much more basic. so she taught me the basics and everything else i have been learning off of youTube. I still want to learn a whole heap of basic things but I'm going pretty good. On the side of this blog you can see my finished object which is a lot more than i thought as well as my unfinished object. which is a lot less than i thought. i would love to have a list of the projects that i would like to make but that is going to be endless.

I have been looking for something artistic to do for years. i cant draw, paint or write. but now i can knit, crochet and sew. My friend gave me a cool quilting book for xmas. i want to get into that. my Yaya gave me her sewing machine for xmas last year and my Nana has been talking about giving me her knitting machine. If i can get some things knitted up faster i might start to make some stuff to sell too.

I love colourful hand dyed and hand spun yarn. I will be posting about my favorite artists later. hopefully i stay motivated so i can write about my projects and post photos too.

I am going to do more of my waving chevron scarf. I am using the yarn cotton candy from one fat slug. It was one of the first hand dyed yarns i bought. its sock yarn but i am not into socks yet. i tried, but i made one ugly brown sock and didn't do its pair.

I hope i keep writing
